Right clicking an icon in the
Resource Drop Zone
is an alternative method for changing a
resource from one-way monitoring to two-way communication with the Dispatcher. Right-click
also provides options for removing a resource from the Dispatch area. Alternatively, simply drag
and drop resources from the
Dispatch Resource Drop Zone
to a net or to the
Resources
area.
Recording the Dispatch communications is available, if enabled. See Section 6.2.5
6.2.3.4
Examples: COR and PTT in Dispatch and in Nets
The following screenshot shows what happens within Dispatch when a field transmission occurs.
A mobile or handheld user is transmitting on the UHF TAC channel. This channel is in the
Dispatch Area and is also a member of Net 3. The transmission by a user on the channel creates
the green Active COR indication in both places.
In Net 3: The other two channels are retransmitting this message.
In the Dispatch Area: Here, its Active COR condition creates Active PTT in the Dispatcher’s
headset, and allows the Dispatcher to monitor the traffic on the ‘UHF TAC’ channel. Note that
this has no effect on any other system in the Dispatch Area; the audio goes only to the Dispatch
Source. If multiple channels in the Dispatch Area simultaneously have active COR, the Dispatch
Source will hear their audio signals mixed together.

In the next example, the JPS VIA PTToC 2 channel has been placed in the Dispatch Source
position, allowing a smartphone to be used as the Dispatch Source. Any traffic on UHF TAC or
VHF TAC will be heard by any JPS VIA user on the PTToC 2 Talkgroup.
