Note the red COR and green PTT blocks on the icons in net 3. When multiple channels are in an
interoperability net, any time an audio signal is received by one of them (active COR), this audio
will be retransmitted by all other channels in the net, and they will show active PTT.

COR and PTT
Let’s expand the COR and PTT discussion by looking carefully at net 3.

Radio connections are typically made by a
Donor Radio
that is a member of a trunked or
conventional repeater system. In the following diagram, VHF TAC (blue) and VHF 163 (red) are
two repeater channels that share an antenna. Both of these radio systems are being connected to
the Z2C through RSP-Z2 #2. For the purposes of understanding COR and PTT, let’s concentrate
on VHF TAC, which is member of net 3 on the Z2C.
