Spare - Unmarked drives from the member column are available to
use in the spare column to choose a drive for a dedicated hot-spare
and assign it to the current array being created.
Size - Displays the size of each available drive in the Physical
Elements Panel.
Encl - Each enclosure shelf will be numbered 1, 2, 3, etc., with 1
always as the top shelf.
Slot - The slot number identifies where the drive is seated.
Vendor - The drive's manufacturer is identified in this column.
Model - The drive's model number from the factory is displayed.
Drive Information - This area provides a summary of the above
activity.
Capacity - Total capacity for the array is displayed, 67 GB in this
example.
Drive width - The number of drives used to create the RAID level of
the selected array, three drives in this example.
Dedicated Hot-Spare - The number that appears in this field indicates
how many dedicated hot-spares have been assigned during the
creation of the current Array Set; (1) in this example.
Global Hot-Spare - The Yes/No in this field is an indicator referring
to the current array set. When there is an available drive in the
enclosure, you can designate a global hot-spare at any time. For
instructions, please refer to
in the
Tutorial section, Chapter 3.
Action Buttons - Any grayed out buttons are not active.
Previous - Returns you to the previous window.
Next - Takes you to the summary screen so that you can review the
results of building your array configuration (see
Finish - Not an option at this level.
Cancel - Allows you to stop this function
