Chapter 9    Upgrading

Upgrading the
Printer's Firmware

The printer's firmware, i.e. the Fingerprint kernel, the standard fonts,
and other files stored in the printer's flash memory, can be upgraded
in several ways. The same methods can be used for downloading
non-standard fonts:
• By means of a flash memory card (Firmware Card/Font Install

Card) inserted in the printer's memory card slot (see the printer's
Service Manual).

• From the CD over a serial channel using PrintSet.
• From a file in the host over a serial channel using PrintSet.
• Directly over Ethernet using FTP.
