Chapter 6 Transfer Ribbon Mechanism

Ribbon Unwind
Unit

Description

The ribbon unwind unit consists of a spool on a shaft pressed into
the centre-line wall. The spool contains a spring that serves as a
friction brake, which gives enough resistance to obtain a proper
tension of the ribbon.

A leaf spring on the spool is used to engage the ribbon core.
