IMPORTANT!
After completing the physical installation, it is important that the
printer is instructed to measure the resistance of the new printhead
and adjust itself accordingly. This is done by sending the following
instruction:
PRINT HEAD(-1)
The printer will check all dots in the printhead and determine its
mean resistance. Provided you have a two-way communication, it
will return -1 if the printhead is OK, else 0. The resistance value is
saved in the printer’s permanent memory.
The printhead resistance is also measured when a test label is
printed, see chapter 13.1.
Failure to adjust the printer to the printhead resistance may result
in inferior printout quality or premature wear-out of the printhead.
