13.11 Printing
Troubles, cont'd.
Description:
Overall weak printout.
Possible Causes and Suggested Remedies:
• Various reasons.
- Check as for “No printout at all”.
• Wrong Contrast setup.
- Check printer's Contrast setup for extreme value.
• Wrong paper type setup.
- Verify that the printer's setup matches the direct thermal paper
or receiving face material and transfer ribbon in use.
• Printhead pressure too low.
- Adjust as described in chapter 7.7.
• Incorrect printhead resistance value.
- Print a test label as described in chapter 13.1 or use a HEAD
command to measure the printhead resistance.
• Wrong printhead voltage.
- Measure voltages 24V and 24V_PH, see chapter 11.9.
Description:
Weaker printout on either inner or outer part of label.
Possible Causes and Suggested Remedies:
• Bad printhead pressure alignment.
- Adjust as described in chapter 7.7.
Description:
Overall too dark printout (bleeding). Too dark a printout is
particularly troublesome when printing compact bar codes, in
which case spaces between the bars become less distinctive, and
consequently less readable.
Possible Causes and Suggested Remedies:
• Wrong Contrast setup.
- Print a test label and check Contrast setup for extreme values.
• Wrong paper type setup.
- Verify that the printer's setup matches the direct thermal paper
or receiving face material and transfer ribbon in use.-
