7 Maintenance tasks
The Modul1000 is a measuring device specifically designed and built for industrial
use. The components and assemblies used correspond with the highest quality
standards and are generally need low-maintenance.
However, to maintain the warranty claim for the Modul1000 it is required, to keep the
maintenance intervals as listed below:
It is recommended signing a maintenance contract for the Modul1000 with INFICON
or a service partner authorized by INFICON.
7.1 Maintenance and service at INFICON
If an equipment is returned to INFICON, indicate if the equipment is free of
substances damaging to health or if it is contaminated. If it is contaminated, indicate
the nature of the hazard. Use a form prepared by us for "contamination declaration",
which we will submit to you upon request. You will find a copy of the form at the end
of the technical manual. Copies of the form are also permitted.
Attach the form directly to the equipment or put it into the packaging with the equip-
ment!
Notice:
The "contamination declaration" is required to meet legal requirements and
protect our employees. If the equipment has no Declaration of
Contamination attached, INFICON must return any equipment to the
sender’s address.
7.2 General Maintenance Instructions
Maintenance work for the Modul1000 is divided into 3 service segments:
• Service segment ICustomer
• Service segment IICustomer with technical education
• Service segment IIIauthorized INFICON service technician
Maintenance work of service segment III may only be performed by persons author-
ized and trained by INFICON GmbH in Cologne.
Please observe the following safety instruction for all maintenance work on the
Modul1000!
If you have your own maintenance schedule and are authorized to carry out mainte-
nance work, then you can switch off the maintenance messages. See chapter
6.12.6.5
Notice:
Compliance with the following maintenance schedule is mandatory for
cases where warranty claims are asserted for Modul1000. In the event, that
the appropriate maintenance work was not carried out, the claim for
warranty for these assemblies expires.
