Publish the update file to a URL, FTP site, or network location
Note: When creating .BUD files, follow the example .BUD files that are contained
in the \Client directory of the CD-ROM or in the self-extracting .EXE file as
templates. Download the self-extracting .EXE file from the IBM NetVista
support site.
If you use the example .BUD files from the CD-ROM, you need to copy the
files first to your hard drive before you can view them.
Use the same file attributes as those contained in the examples, with the
exception of the file source location. Change the file source location to match
the location of your files within your server.

Update Designer Users Manual available on the IBM licensed program CD-ROM
and at the IBM NetVista web site at the following uniform resource locator (URL):

Downloading the software update
You can find the latest information on software updates for your NetVista thin
client on the IBM NetVista thin client web site.
Follow these steps to obtain the software update:
1.
From your update server, open an internet browser, and go to the following
URL:
http://www.ibm.com/pc/support
a. Click NetVista.
b. Click NetVista thin client.
c. In the left frame, and under the Technical Information section, click Hot
News
.
d.
Click NetVista N2200w (8363Wxx) - Service packs.
2. Choose the appropriate Service Pack to download.
3.
To download the software update onto your update server, follow the
download instructions on the web site.
Ensure that you download the software update to the [drive]:\wbt_update
directory.
Running the CE Updater Locally
A software update consists of the following automated tasks:
1. Checking your update server for the latest version of the NetVista thin client
software.
2. Comparing the software version on the update server with the software version
that is currently installed and running on the NetVista thin client.
3.
Downloading and installing the software on the NetVista thin client.
4. Automatically restarting the NetVista thin client with the new level of NetVista
thin client software.
