RDP session (Windows 2000 only)
Note:
RDP sessions are not supported by Windows NT 4.0 TSE.
Follow these steps to verify that a printer is available for local printing:
1.
From the Windows terminal desktop, select Start–>Settings–>Printers.
The Printers window appears.
If a printer is attached to your NetVista thin client, the configuration name for
this printer appears as Local WBT Printer/[TERMINAL_NAME]/Session
[Number]
.
For example:
Local WBT Printer/IBMWBT/Session 3
IBMWBT
is the terminal name.
Session 3
is the session number.
The configuration name of your printer appears automatically if it has been
previously defined on the Printer tab in the Terminal Protperty window. If you
do not see a printer configuration name for your NetVista thin client, follow
these steps to create a printer configuration for your NetVista thin client:
a.
Verify that a printer is attached to your NetVista thin client.
b.
From the Windows terminal desktop, select Start–>Settings–>Printers.
c.
Double-click the Add Printer icon.
The Add Printer wizard appears.
d.
Complete the Add Printer Wizard to create the new printer configuration.
2.
Close the Printers window.
TEC session
To direct an IBM remote host to print to a local printer or to a network printer, use
the 3270 Print emulation or 5250 Print emulation. Refer to the IBM Online
Reference help file for detailed information on configuring a TEC session for a
3270 Print emulation or a 5250 Print emulation. See “Viewing the TEC help files”
on page 25 for more information.
Follow these steps to print to a local printer:
1.
From the Connect menu, select Print Setup.
2.
Select a local printer, and click OK.
3.
From the Connect menu, select Print.
The contents of the session window prints to the local printer.
Web session
Follow these steps to print to a local printer:
1.
From the File menu, select Print .
2.
Select either PCL inkjet or PCL laser to match your printer setup.
3.
Select either COM1 or LPT1 and click OK.
4.
Click OK again to save your settings.
The content of the Internet Explorer web browser window prints to the local
printer.
