About This Book
This book provides instructions for installing and replacing options
in your IBM Netfinity EXP15 Storage Expansion Unit. It also
provides information on troubleshooting your expansion unit. If
you have not yet set up your expansion unit, refer to Chapter 2,
“Installation Setup” on page 13 for detailed information.
How This Book is Organized
Chapter 1, “Introduction,” introduces and describes the expansion
unit. This chapter also includes an overview of the expansion unit's
features and components.
Chapter 2, “Installation Setup,” specifies the preparations to
complete before the installation and explains the overall installation
process.
Chapter 3, “Rack Installation,” describes how to install the
expansion unit in a server rack.
Chapter 4, “Installing and Replacing Devices,” contains step-by-step
instructions for installing and removing options, such as internal
drives and customer replaceable units (CRUs). In addition, this
chapter contains instructions for turning the expansion unit on and
off.
Chapter 5, “Solving Problems,” contains the problem symptoms and
error messages that are specific to your expansion unit. This
chapter also provides instructions on how to obtain service and
technical assistance for your expansion unit and other IBM products
that you might plan to use.
Appendix A, “Records,” provides a section to record and update
important information about your expansion unit, including serial
number and device records. Whenever you add options to your
expansion unit, be sure to update the information in this appendix.
Appendix B, “Product Warranties and Notices,” contains product
notices, warranties, and trademarks.

