7. Ensure the Connect using field displays COM1 or COM2 (depending on the

serial communication port connection to the switch), and click OK. The
COMn dialog box displays, where n is 1 or 2 (

8. Configure the Port Settings parameters as follows:

— Bits per second - 115200.

— Data bits - 8.

— Parity - None.

— Stop bits - 1.

— Flow control - Hardware or None.

When the parameters are set, click Apply and OK. The Edge-12 -
HyperTerminal dialog box displays.

9. At the

prompt, type the user-level password (default is password) and press

Enter. The password is case sensitive. The Edge-12 - HyperTerminal dialog
box displays with a

prompt at the bottom of the window.

10. At the

prompt, type

ipconfig

and press Enter. The Edge-12 -

HyperTerminal dialog box displays with configuration information listed,
including the IP address (
