ENC status LEDs
The modular 2U SAS expansion unit ENC unit connects the unit to the
AMS2100 or AMS 2300 base unit.

Disk Drive LEDs
LED Description

READY LED
ON = modular 2U SAS expansion unit is operational.

Power LED (green)
ON = power is being supplied to the modular 2U SAS expansion unit.

HDD ALM LED (red)
ON = a drive failure occurred, rendering the drive inoperable.

HDD ACT LED (green)
ON or flashing = disk drive is operational.

LOCATE LED (orange)
ON = a failure occurred, but the modular 2U SAS expansion unit remain
operational.

LED Description

POWER LED (green)
• ON = modular 2U SAS expansion tray is receiving power.

LOCATE LED (orange) — lights when a modular 2U SAS expansion unit ENC
has encountered a serious error. Please contact Hitachi Data Systems
Technical Support. See the Getting help section in the Preface of this manual.
• Blink one time fast = SRAM error.
• Blink two times fast = ENC hard error.
• Blink three times fast = firmware error in flash memory.
• Not blinking = boot section error of ENC firmware, RAM error, or ENC hard
configuration error.

ALARM LED
• ON = a failure occurred in the ENC Unit, rendering the ENC Unit
inoperable.
