Focus Number
ATO Create (software option)
Description
Changes the number of focal zones so
that the beam can be tightened or
expanded for a specific area. A graphic
caret corresponding to the focal zone
position(s) appears on the right edge of
the image.
ATO, Automatic Tissue Optimization,
optimizes the image based upon a
specified Region Of Interest (ROI) or
anatomy within the display. ATO gray
scale map is available only in B-Mode.
ACCESSING/CHANGING:
Once ATO Create has been selected, a
ROI box cursor is displayed on the image.
Use the trackball for changing the size and
location of the ROI box cursor. Press
Scan Area to toggle between sizing and
moving the cursor.
Press Set. The system automatically
optimizes the entire image. The
highlighted sub-menu selection changes
automatically from ATO Create to
ATO ON/OFF.

Changing the focus number affects frame
rate. The greater number of focus points,
the slower the frame rate.

Adding focal zones tends to increase TI,
although it may decrease MI.
