SAFETY RULES FOR TOWING
Serious injury or death could result if a disabled machine is towed incorrectly or if there is a mistake in the selec-
tion or inspection of the wire rope.
For towing, see "TOWING THE MACHINE (3-142)".

Always wear leather gloves when handling wire rope.
q
Fix the wire rope to the track frame.
q
During the towing operation, never stand between the towing
machine and the machine being towed.
q
Never tow a machine on a slope.
q
Never use a wire rope which has cut strands (A), reduced
diameter (B), or kinks (C). There is danger that the rope may
break during the towing operation.
