STOP ENGINE BEFORE CARRYING OUT MAINTENANCE
q
Stop the machine on firm, level ground.
q
Select a place where there is no hazard of falling rocks or
landslides, or of flooding if the land is low.
q
Lower the work equipment completely to the ground and stop
the engine.
q
Turn the starting switch to the ON position. Operate the work
equipment control lever back and forth, left and right at the full
stroke 2 to 3 times to eliminate the remaining internal pres-
sure in the hydraulic circuit, and then push down lock lever (1)
to the LOCK position (L).
q
Put blocks under the track to prevent the machine from mov-
ing.
TWO WORKERS FOR MAINTENANCE WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING
To prevent injury, do not carry out maintenance with the engine
running. If maintenance must be carried out with the engine run-
ning, carry out the operation with at least two workers and do as
follows.
q
One worker must always sit in the operator's seat and be
ready to stop the engine at any time. All workers must main-
tain contact with the other workers.
