
Preliminary steps

If the HDD to be removed is combined into a RAID array, proceed as
follows:
RAID level
Procedure
RAID 0
CAUTION
RAID 0 provides no data redundancy.
In case of an HDD/SSD module is defect,
all data are lost!
RAID 1
RAID 5
Removing an HDD module from a RAID 1 or RAID
5 array will not result in data loss.
However, the removed drive needs to be replaced
immediately by an HDD module of the same or
larger capacity.
After replacing the HDD module, RAID
rebuild will be performed as a background
process, see
In order to permanently remove an operational HDD that is part of a RAID
array from the server, you first need to delete the array using ServerView RAID
Manager.
CAUTION
All data on all HDDs/SSDs in the array will be lost when deleting the
RAID array!
