Model D2424LVmkII  Reference Manual (Saving and Loading Song Data)

101

In each of the WAV and BACKUP folders on a backup disk formatted in FAT 32, multiple storage folders for storing
saved files are automatically created. (The number of storage folders depends on the hard disk capacity. In the case
of a 40-GB hard disk, for example, five storage folders in the WAV folder and 20 storage folders in the BACKUP
folder are created.)

<Note>:

The BACKUP folder is used for saving DAT files for backup of FDMS-3 files. The saved DAT files cannot be read

or edited by a personal computer. However, in each storage folder, a file (text file) of list of programs recorded on saved
DAT files is created so you can check the contents of the saved programs by opening the text file.

About files to be saved

Read-only

text file

<Note>:

In the BACKUP and WAV folders, storage folders are created when the drive is formatted. Each BACKUP storage

folder has the name of "D2424B**" (where ** is a two-digit number), while each WAV storage folder has the name of
"D2424W**" (where ** is a two-digit number).
If you newly create a storage folder using a personal computer, give an appropriate folder name which has the sequen-
tial number.

In each storage folder in the BACKUP folder, you can save data files with ".DAT" extension (we call them "DAT files"
in this document) as backup of FDMS-3 files. During save operation, the unit creates DAT files with the name of
"four char folder number (in two digits) + DISK number (01 through 99) + .DAT", as well as a read-only text
file which contains program information (see above).
In each storage folder in the WAV folder, a subfolder with a six-character name is created during save operation. In
the subfolder, mono WAV files (for tracks 1 through 56 or 1 through 24) with the name of "six char 2-digit
track .wav" are created. Note that the size of each WAV file is limited to approximately 4 GB.
