When the holes have been drilled insert Cleco‟s / skinpins to hold in
position.
Then move to drilling and fixing the fairing front sides to the TU6. Just
make one hole each side and secure with Cleco‟s / skinpins.
The upper and lower seams have the positions marked for hole drilling with
small dots in the moulding. Start nearest the finpost. Drill, secure with
cleco/skinpins and move forwards.
Then move to the underside starting at the rear and again working
forwards.

g) When all is drilled and verified drill and rivet the remaining positions on the
finpost (fig 120). Use 5 white 4mm aluminium rivets.
h) Then fix the top and bottom fairing seams using the white 4x10mm plastic
screws and plastic self locking nuts. Use a 4x16mm stainless steel screw and
nyoc nut for the frontmost fixings top and bottom.
Make up some „creeper boards‟ (from the packing box is ideal) to put
on the lower longerons to gain access to the inside beyond what you
can easily reach.
i) Fit the two bracing angles shown in figure 122 above. These are there to
support / stiffen the glassfibre upper and lower surface
Make thes up from some 1mm thick aluminium, bent into an L shape.
Drill the horizontal tubes of the central frame 4mm holes in the centre to
fix them. Fix them to the nearest bolts in the fairing Change4 thse to
4mm bolts. Drill to fit to the central brace (4mm bolts) so that no
pressure is put on the glassfibre pushing or pulling.
