Grasp the top and bottom of the tire and rock tire back and forth. In case of excess play, check the
bearing adjustment. If the wheel bearing is satisfactory, a worn king pin / bearing is indicated.

Remove the spindle assembly, remove the inner distance sleeve (24), clean king pin bush (22) with
solvent (Ref Fig. C12). If the wear of inner diameter of the bush is 0.880 inch (22.35 millimetres) or more,
the bush should be replaced with a new one. Force off the used bush, force the new bush into the
spindle such that it is flush with the spindle housing.
The inner diameter of bush may be slightly reduced due to pressing. Use a reamer of 0.866 inch
(22 millimetres) in diameter to cut the dimensions of the new bush.
Reinstall the spindle; if the cotter pin hole in the king pin (8) aligns with a slot in the castellated nut (9),
insert a new cotter pin (25). If the hole does not align, the castellated nut must be loosened or tightened
to align with the closest available slot in the nut.
