Component Maintenance
5.
Dry out the bottom of the machine.
6.
Replace the storage bins.
7.
Make sure all components are dry before powering the machine.
5.3.10.1. Glass Crusher
1.
There are six grease-fitting points on the Glass Crusher: four in the front (bearing
& block) and two in the back (bearings). Every year, lubricate each fitting with an
all-purpose grease.
2.
Coat the teeth of the large gears on the front of crusher with gear and wire rope
spray lube every three months. Do not over spray: If you see any dripping, there is
too much lubricant on the gear.
3.
Inspect all of the carbide tips to check that they are in place and tight.
4.
Turn the power on, and turn on the door interlock override switch. Test the
crusher with the Diagnostic Program (Main / Compactor).
5.3.11. Bin Overflow Sensors
Clean the overflow sensors glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth. Then, test them with the Diagnostic Pro-
gram (Main / Sensors).
5.3.12. Scanners
On each visit, clean the scanner windows with glass cleaner and a soft cloth. Do not use any other
cleaner on the scanner, since streaks can cause the scanner to malfunction. Test the scanners with the
Diagnostic Program (Ultra-48 / Thresholds).
