Software Theory of Operation
5.
If another
RVM
checks the server and finds a renamed file (from Step 4 that is in
process but not yet complete), it checks to see if it is old. If it is old, it assumes that
previous file transfer has failed. In that case, it gets the file and transfers it to the
other
RVM
s. If, however, the file is new, it ignores the file and waits to receive it
from the
RVM
that is in process of distributing it.
The software process by which QFiles and logs are collected from the
RVM
s and sent to
Envipco through cellular modem is simplified by this summary:
1.
The
RVM
reaches its connection time. It collects QFiles and logs from all of the
RVM
s that it can connect with.
2.
After a certain wait time, it packages all of the received files together in a zip file
and sends them to Envipco’s
FTP
server.
3.
It sends an acknowledgement to all of the
RVM
s. This acknowledgement prevents
the other
RVM
s from collecting QFiles within a set time frame.
4.7. Software Theory of Operation
This section describes the software processes of the
RVM
and shows the circuit boards on which they
run. See Figure 4-18 for an overview. Figure 4-19 shows the location of the circuit boards. See
Section 3.7.2 on page 3-16 for more information about the circuit boards.
