ULTRA HDS Main Components
3.2. Cabinet
The
RVM
’s cabinet comprises a top cabinet (also called the “head”) and the commodity storage cabi-
net(s) below. The top cabinet houses the
RVM
’s In-Feed, Sorting Cylinder, compactor, and all of its elec-
tronic and electrical components. The lower cabinet houses the commodity bins, bin full sensor, and a
door interlock sensor. The number and size of the lower commodity bins depends on the
RVM
’s config-
uration. The cabinets can be installed in a free-standing, through-the-wall, or recessed configuration.
3.2.1. Door Interlock
The door interlock feature prevents anyone from running the compactor while any cabinet door is
open. The
RVM
detects open doors through the use of magnetic reed sensors. Whenever the magnetic
circuit is broken, a signal is transmitted to the
RVM
Controller to shut off the compactor power. The
display shows a message indicating which door is open.
