Pin Assignments
This appendix provides pin assignments for all ports (connectors) on
Aurorean APS/ANG-3000/7000 systems. Because these systems ship with all
the cables required, this information is only necessary if you need to purchase
or fabricate a replacement cable.
Information is provided for the following ports:
!
Ethernet ports
!
Serial ports
!
Keyboard and mouse ports
Ethernet
Aurorean 3000/7000 systems are equipped with Ethernet ports located at the
rear of the chasses, supporting full-duplex 10/100Base-T transmission. These
LAN connectors are routed to four LEDs (two Link and 100Mbps LEDs per
each interface) on the front panel (refer to Appendix A for LED descriptions).
Both APS-3000 and APS-7000 models offers a single Ethernet port for
connection to a trusted network segment (one protected by a firewall). ANG
models ANG-3000 and ANG-7000 offer a similar port and a second port for
connection to an unprotected external network segment.
Both port types conform to IEEE 802.3 standards with 8-pin modular RJ-45
connectors. The same cables can be used for 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps
transmission. Figure 1 shows the pin assignments for all Aurorean 3000/7000
system Ethernet ports.
