Installing Software & Setting

Networking Configurables

This chapter describes first-time system software installation and
configuration of both the Aurorean Network Gateway and Policy Server. Two
other maintenance tasks are also described. The general steps include:

Installing APS-3000/7000 software.

Installing new system software on the ANG-3000/7000.

Configuring general values of the ANG-3000/7000.

Configuring the Remote ANG-3000/7000.

Configuring the ANG-1100.

Backing up the ANG configuration (optional).

Viewing ANG statistics.

Before You Begin

Before you begin the procedures in this chapter:

Have the Aurorean System Software CD ROM in hand. The CD ROM is
provided in the Aurorean server shipping carton.

Although the remote control application VNC is factory-installed on the
APS, optionally, you can install the client (

VNCviewer.exe

) on your

remote control PC. This file is stored on the Aurorean System Software
CD ROM and the

c:\Program Files\Orl\Vnc

directory on the APS.

Aurorean Web Config supports the use of Internet Explorer 5 or
Netscape 4.
