Controlling other devices with this unit
Controlling another DV-7PR (Presenter)
You can control multiple other DV-7PRs with this unit. Turn on the DV-7PR Control function, and
you can set the dissolve time (p. 47), and select palettes and video clips.
This section explains the operation regarding this unit as master, and the others as slave. Use USB
compatible MIDI interfaces such as the UM-1 to connect this unit and each slave DV-7PR. Connect
the MIDI cable to the MIDI OUT interface of this unit (master), and to the MIDI IN interface of the
slave DV-7PR.
When controlling another DV-7PR, first launch the slave DV-7PR Presenter and set the Device ID at the
“System Exclusive Message” of the MIDI Preference (p. 88). Then perform the master setting as follows.
1.
Set the Device ID of the slave DV-7PR.
For information regarding the Device ID setting, refer to “About the System Exclusive Message” (p.
88).
2.
At thePlay Mode or Edit Mode screen of the master DV-7PR , click the [MIDI Preferences]
button.
3.
Set the Device ID for DV-7PR Control.
Set the same ID as the slave.

Mark the checkbox in the “DV-7PR Control”.
DV-7PR Control turns on and this unit is set to master.

Click the [Done] button.
If the control function seems not to be working, disable the control function once by clearing the checkbox,
and then activate the control function again by marking the checkbox.
