Guarding mechanisms

Node guarding or heartbeat can be used to monitor
communication between the gateway and the CAN master.

Node guarding

Node guarding is supported. The monitoring interval (guard
time) and the number of repeat attempts can be set. Node
guarding is deactivated as standard.

Heartbeat

If the option

Activate heartbeat creation

is selected, the

module emits heartbeats at the millisecond intervals
specified in

Heartbeat producer time

. If the value is 0, the

function is deactivated.

The following illustration shows the register with the CAN
parameters.

The node guarding mechanism cannot be operated
together with the heartbeat monitoring.
