NOTE
Available trigger types depend on system
configuration, and primary weld method.

The
AUTO
mode requires a voltage signal applied to
J2 pin 8. The applied voltage level, either ground or
+22VDC, must be the opposite of the voltage level
applied to J2 pin 13. See Pages 19 and 20 for additional
information.
Apply the auto input signal for a minimum of 50 millisec-
onds to ensure that the cycle has been started.

Trigger Type
is the next Process Setup submenu.
“Trigger” defines the type of event that turns on the ultra-
sound signal. This event can be:
• a force level from the force load cell,
• a power level reached by the generator, or
• a position reached by the thruster.
Types can be:
•
Force
•
Power
•
Position
Trigger Type
Use extreme caution when
using the Momentary trigger
type. Opening the trigger
switch will NOT terminate the
weld cycle. Guard the horn/fixture “pinch
point” to prevent hands, or fingers from be-
ing crushed by the vibrating horn.
Program Notes
After selecting the appropriate trigger type, the opera-
tor enters data where the trigger type calls for it.
For instance, all trigger types call for a
Max Trigger
Time
to be entered.
See Figure 5-8, Trigger Type Submenu Diagram
.

Pre-trigger and Trigger Delay information
can be found on Page 82.
