2.3 Main Functions of AMPS-1
• Normal Sinus Rhythm
• Arrhythmia Waveforms, including premature beats; conduction defects;
supraventricular beats; ventricular rhythm and tachycardia; fibrillation; etc.
• ECG Performance Waveforms
• AED Test Waveforms
• Defibrillator Training Waveforms
• Pacemaker Waveforms
• Fetal ECG Waveforms
• Temperature
• Respiration Waveforms
• Invasive Blood Pressure (static and dynamic, including Swan-Ganz)
• Intrauterine Pressure (IUP)
Details and specifications of each function are described in the chapters to follow.
2.4 Powering up AMPS-1
To power up, press the POWER button on the left side of AMPS-1.
The Power-On screen ( Figure 1 ), which shows the firmware version number, will
appear briefly and then be replaced by the Selection screen ( Figure 2 ).
When viewing the Selection screen, pressing any of the keys 0 - 9 will enter a menu for
the simulation function(s) noted on the button face. Each simulation function is
described in a separate Chapter of this manual.
ECG, respiration, temperature, and other simulation parameters are automatically
initialized to default values when AMPS-1 is powered up. These settings are the
"Power-On" defaults for AMPS-1. As described in Section 13.3, up to twenty AMPS-1
parameters can be programmed by the user to configure the default multi-parameter
patient simulation which takes effect at power-on.
