Using the Printer
•
Change the cleaning sleeve each time you clean the printer or change the print
ribbon.
•
You can also clean the printhead. See
“Clean the printhead”
for the steps to
follow.
Clean the printhead
Clean the printhead when you notice unprinted lines on the finished card. This
usually indicates dirt or contamination on the printhead. Clean the printhead
after replacement or if it has been accidently touched. The oils from hands could
affect print quality.
1.
Begin with the printer powered off.
2.
Open the printer cover and remove the print ribbon cartridge.
3.
Open the cleaning pen.
4.
Using gentle pressure, move the cleaning pen
back and forth along the full length of the
printhead edge until it is completely clean.
5.
Replace the print ribbon cartridge and close the
printer cover. Avoid bumping printhead when
installing the print ribbon cartridge.
6.
Power on the printer.
7.
Print a sample card to verify the quality of printing.
