5.2212 DS1/E1 Inputs (P-1 to P-10 on the right side, as viewed from the rear)
DS1/E1 inputs provide three different input terminations (monitoring, bridging,
and terminating) for input cards and the Synchronization Monitor Card(s) when
different pairs of 0.045 inch (0.114 cm) square wirewrap pins are selected.
Shield grounds are included. The bridging and terminating inputs accept
signals from 0.5 volt to 3.6 volts peak to base (–18.5 to +1.6 dB) and the
monitor input accepts signals from 0.05 volt to 0.36 volt peak to base. Input
signal shields P11A to P11E provide shielded connections for the input signals
if a far-end ground is not available. Input signal shields should be grounded at
one end, at the other end, but never at both ends.
5.2213 External Reference Clock A (BNC J21)
BNC J21 connector gives an external 10 MHz signal for the A track and hold
card.
5.2214 External Reference Clock B (BNC J22)
BNC J22 connector gives an external 10 MHz for the B track and hold card.
5.2215 Unframed Clock Out (BNC J23)
BNC connector J23 provides an isolation transformer and unframed clock
monitoring for the first output card only.
5.2216 Local Access (J19)
Local access J19 provides connection between the Information Management
Card and an external local terminal through a 9-pin 'D' connector. This is a
DCE data interface type, so a “straight cable” is likely used.
5.2217 Remote Access (J20)
Remote access J20 provides connection between the Information
Management Card and an external remote terminal through another 9-pin 'D'
connector. This is a DCE data interface type, so a “straight cable” is likely
used.
5.2218 Management Expansion Connectors EXP1-EXP8 (J26-J37)
These RJ45 connectors allow for management information to flow between the
master shelf and the expansion (slave) shelves up to a maximum of eight
slaves (nine shelves in total).
