S SC150e HARDWARE REFERENCE

4. INSTALLATION

4.1 Installation Procedures

This chapter describes the installation of the S SC150e card. Installation

requires the following steps:

•

Unpack the card

•

Visually inspect the card

•

Externally Configure the card

−

Set/verify EEPROM WRITE jumper (J303)

−

Set/verify EEPROM READ jumper (J304)

•

Install the card

•

Select Cabling Options

•

Install Fiber Optic Bypass Switch (optional)

•

Internally Configure the card

−

Set up S SC150e Registers

−

Set up S SC150e Control/Status Registers

−

Set Node Identification (CSR3[15:8])

−

Set Network Time-out (CSR5)

−

Enable DEC_IGNORE (CSR10[0])

4.2 Unpack the Card

Perform the following steps:

Remove the S SC150e card, enclosed in its anti-static bag, from the

anti-static carton.

CAUTION

: Exercise care regarding the static environment. Use an anti-static mat

connected to a wristband when handling or installing the S SC150e

card.

Open the anti-static bag and remove the S SC150e card.
Save the shipping material in case the S SC150e card needs to be

returned.
The optional fiber-optic cables and Fiber Optic Bypass Switch are shipped in

separate cartons.

4.3 VisualIy Inspect the Card

A label displaying the part number is located on the back of the card. Compare the part

number, found on the card, to the packing slip to ensure you received the proper card. In

addition, check the card for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. If the

card was damaged in shipping, notify Curtiss-Wright Controls or your supplier

immediately. Figure 4-1 represents the S SC150e PCI host card layout

(revision B card). Figure 4-2 represents the S SC150e PCI host Card layout

(card revision C1 or higher). Figure 4-3 represents the S SC150e PMC card.

Figure 4-4 shows the S SC150e CPCI host card layout.
