Removing the System Board
CAUTION:
Static electricity can damage the electronic components of the
workstation. Before beginning these procedures, be sure you are discharged of
static electricity by briefly touching a grounded metal object.
To remove and replace the system board:
1.
Perform the steps in the “Service Preparations” section.
CAUTION:
Before removing the side access panel, ensure that the workstation
is turned off, all cables are disconnected from the back of the workstation, and
the power cord is disconnected from the grounded AC outlet.
2.
Remove the side access panel.
3.
Remove all expansion boards.
4.
Perform the steps in the “Removing the Speaker” section.
5.
Disconnect all cables that are attached to the system board.
6.
Remove the six retaining screws that secure the system board to the
chassis.
7.
Slide the board 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) toward the front of the chassis
to clear the I/O panel connectors, then lift the board up and out of
the chassis.
