To install a new processor/heatsink, reverse the above procedure.
NOTE:
Before installing a processor, be sure the release latches are in the locked (out) position. This will
cause the latches to click into place when the processor is properly seated.
Removing the Processor Guide Rails
CAUTION:
Static electricity can damage the electronic components of the
workstation. Before beginning these procedures, be sure you are discharged of
static electricity by briefly touching a grounded metal object.
To remove the processor guide rails:
1.
Perform the steps in the “Service Preparations” section.
CAUTION:
Before removing the side access panel, ensure that the workstation
is turned off, all cables are disconnected from the back of the workstation, and
the power cord is disconnected from the grounded AC outlet.

Remove the side access panel.
3.
Remove the processor.
