5.5.25 UV Filter
UV HAZARD!
Always wear protective safety clothing and a face shield when performing
service with the safety shield removed and a lamp installed.
NOTICE:
Handle the UV filter by its edges while wearing clean, lint free gloves.
The UV filter is secured to the end of the light tube. In the instance that a lamp explosion occurs, the UV filter
will need to be replaced.

1. Open the lamp access door. Refer to
5.5.10 Lamp Door, on page 5-9
.
2. Remove the top lid. Refer to
5.5.5 Top Lid, on page 5-7
.
3. Remove the safety shield. Refer to
5.5.12 Safety Shield, on page 5-10
.
4. Remove the lamp (if installed). Refer to
5.5.15 Lamp Replacement, on page 5-13
.
5. Remove the reflector assembly. Refer to
5.5.24 Reflector Assembly (Including Heat Dump), on page 5-24
.
6. Using a #1 Phillips
™
, remove the top two screws and attached clamps (
Figure 5-35/A
).
7. Slowly loosen the third screw until the UV filter can be removed (
Figure 5-35/B
).
