Section 5: Parts and Module Replacement
5.5.11 Exhaust Panel Skin
The exhaust panel is located on the left-side of the projector and contains an access panel, which can be
removed separately for easy access to the cooling system and optical components. The exhaust panel skin will
rarely need to be replaced as the side skin service door can be removed to access internal components.
(Estimated Replacement Time: 20 minutes)
1. Remove the top lid. Refer to
5.5.5 Top Lid, on page 5-7
.
2. Remove the side skin service door. Refer to
5.5.9 Side
Skin Service Door, on page 5-9
.
3. Use a 4mm hex key to remove the four screws securing
the skin to the corner brackets (
Figure 5-11
).
4. Use a #2 Phillips
™
screwdriver to loosen the three
captive screws along the bottom of the exhaust panel
skin.
5. Pull the skin forward and out.
6. Reverse the above steps to re-install the skin.
NOTES:
1)
Ensure that the front and rear corners
interlock before reinstalling the screws.
2)
To remove
the access panel, separately loosen the two captive
screws securing it to the skin.
5.5.12 Safety Shield
UV HAZARD!
Always wear protective safety clothing and a face shield when performing
service with the safety shield removed and a lamp installed.
The safety shield is positioned above the lamp reflector and is
used to block UV light.
(Estimated Replacement Time: 5 minutes)
1. Open the rear access door using the low security key.
2. Remove the top lid. Refer to
5.5.5 Top Lid, on page 5-7
.
3. Use a #1 Phillips™ to loosen the two captive screws
(
Figure 5-12
).
4. Remove the safety shield.
