Trouble Clearing Procedure
Alarm Count List
Change
Event Report Service Problem.
(Reported only if the alarm count
list has been created. The alarm
count list is created by DMS
switches.)
The number of alarms active in the
Access Navigator has changed.
Only those alarms reportable to
the switch and excluding Service
Problems are included in the alarm
count list.
The alarm is cleared after all
events reportable to the switch
have been cleared.
DS1 Card

Removed
While In Service
Event Report Line Card Problem.
Quad T1 Framer card removed
while one or more of the four
DS1s were provisioned as in-
service.
Insert a Quad T1 Framer card, or
provision all four DS1s as out of
service. Use following CLI
command to change service state:
set ds1
<n> <up|down>
DS1
n
Loss of Frame
Event Report LOF Problem. DS1
has LOF (Loss of Frame) – there is
a signal present but the DS1
receiver is not framed to it. This
alarm occurs if the DS1 is set for
ESF and the incoming signal is D4
(or vice-versa).
Correct the problem with the
incoming DS1 signal, or use
following CLI command to
provision the DS1 as out of
service:
set ds1
<n> <up|down>
DS1

Loss of Signal
Event Report LOS Problem. DS1
has LOS (Loss of Signal)
Correct the problem with the
incoming DS1 signal, or use
following CLI command to
provision the DS1 as out of
service:
set ds1
<n> <up|down>
DS1

RAI (Yellow
Alarm)
Event Report Alarm Indication.
DS1 is receiving RAI (Remote
Alarm Indication), also known as
Yellow Alarm. The far end
network element sends this alarm
when it declares Carrier Failure
Alarm (LOS, LOF, AIS).
Correct the problem with the
incoming DS1 at the far end, or
use following CLI command to
provision the DS1 as out of
service:
set ds1
<n> <up|down>
DS1

Transmit Failure
Event Report Framing Problem.
Quad T1 Framer transmit DS1
circuit failure.
Replace the Quad T1 Framer card,
or use following CLI command to
provision the DS1 as out of
service:
set ds1
<n> <up|down>
