- Support for EOS-type EX Speedlites (including the MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite)
The PowerShot G3 makes it possible to use the
MT-24EX* Macro Twin Lite for macro photography
in addition to the EX Speedlites (including the
MR-14EX Macro Ring Lite) developed for use with
EOS cameras. This flash makes delicate light
distribution possible in the macro mode.
Table 2–4 lists the EX Speedlite functions and other systems available on the PowerShot G1, G2 and G3.

*1: Full exposure is set when the PS G1 is in the manual shooting mode.
In the manual shooting mode on the PS G2 and PS G3, the default setting is 2 stops down from full
exposure, but this value can be set in one-third stop intervals over a range of ±2 stops using the camera
user interface.
Using the flash user interface, the flash strength can be set in one-third stop intervals over a range of
±3 stops in the same way.
However, +2 stops or greater reaches full exposure.
*2: When using of ST-E2 both the PS G3 and Speed-lite are set in manual mode, the flash doesn’t flash.
Items marked with X in the table above may appear to work, but there is no guarantee that the specified
exposure accuracy will be obtained.
