Note: If the user is using a duplexing unit, it must be installed between the paper feeder and
the printer.
Install the duplexing unit on the paper feeder, and then install the printer on the duplex-
ing unit. Do not attempt to lift the printer and duplexing unit together because it is dan-
gerous.
7. Unpacking and installing the hard disk drive
1) Turn OFF the printer and unplug the power cable and interface cables from the printer. If
“COOLING DOWN” is displayed in the message area when turning OFF the power, do not
unplug the power cable until the message disappears.
2) Remove the 3 screws and then take out the video controller unit from the printer.
3) Unpack the hard disk drive and take it out from the electrostatic bag.
4) Assemble the hard disk drive (Hard disk drive x 1, hard disk plate x 1, stand offs x 3, rib-
bon cable x 1).
5) Place the hard disk drive on the video controller PCB and connect the connectors.

6) Tighten the 3 screws from the back of the video controller PCB to secure the hard disk drive.
7) Install the video controller unit in the printer.

Note: The video controller and hard disk drive may be damaged by static electricity. Take
extra cautions when handling them.
