create an appliqué. Embroider one pattern with a straight
stitch and one pattern with a satin stitch.

Select a straight stitch frame pattern. Embroider the
pattern onto the fabric for the appliqué piece, then cut
neatly around the outside of the shape.
b
Embroider the same pattern from step
a
onto the
base fabric.
c
Apply two-sided stabilizer material to the back of the
fabric for the appliqué piece created in step
a
. Attach
the appliqué to the base fabric matching the shapes.
d
Select the satin stitch frame pattern of the same shape
as the appliqué. Embroider over the fabric for the
appliqué piece and base fabric from step
c
to create
the appliqué.

the pattern onto the base fabric.
