4.11.2 Aux Output on Slate 5016G
Slate 5016G switchers have a total of 6 auxiliary outputs, which connect to the 16x16
Router through Outputs 3-8. The outputs can either be assigned in pre-production in the
Router Assignments window, see section 1.5.8, or through the Destinations Row of the
Control Panel. The Control Panel can control Auxes 1-4, leaving 2 outputs to be
assigned through Router Assignments or a Remote Aux Panel.
There is 1 Aux Tie Line that connects internal Slate sources such as graphics and clips,
to the router to be used in aux bus selection. Only one Aux output at a time may output
an internal source. If a 2ME bus mode does not have aux enabled, then no Aux Tie is
available (see section 1.12). Any external source connected to the router can output to
any Aux output at any time, even if a 2ME Bus mode has aux disabled.
To operate Aux 1-4:
1.
On the Control Panel, press the
[Aux 1], [Aux 2], [Aux 3]
or
[Aux 4]
PixButton in
the Destinations Row and it will illuminate orange, as shown below.
2.
Select the source you wish to assign to Aux 1-4 by pressing its
[Source]
button in
the Sources Row, and it will illuminate orange, and the video will be sent to the
selected output. In addition the Aux Tab of the Multi-View will show the name of the
source selected if the Aux/About Tab is selected as a floating window.
4.11.2
NOTE:
Since Aux bus selection is a vertical interval cut, there may be a glitch on the Aux output if
switching between different formats (SD to HD) and if switching between genlocked and non-genlocked
sources.
