2 - BACnet Setup
The following describes BACnet setup for ProtoCessor ProtoNode RER.
2.1 - Record identification data
Each ProtoNode has a unique part number located on the underside of the unit. This number should be recorded, as it may be required
for technical support. The number is as follows:
Model
Part number
ProtoNode RER
FPC-N34-103-126-0893

2.2 - Configure Modbus RTU COM settings
Configure the Modbus RTU COM settings on the device connected to ProtoNode RER (FPC-N34).
ALL devices connected to the ProtoNode MUST have the same Baud Rate, Data Bits, Stop Bits, and Parity. (Figure 4)
The figure below defines the installed default serial port settings necessary to communicate with the device.
Serial port setting

Protocol
Modbus RTU
Baud Rate
9600

Figure 4: Modbus RTU COM settings
Set the Modbus Node-ID for each of the devices attached to the ProtoNode. The Modbus Node-IDs must be uniquely assigned
between 1 and 255.
• The Modbus Node-ID assigned to each device must be documented.
•
The Modbus Node-IDs assigned are used for setting the Device Instance for BACnet/IP and BACnet MS/TP. (See Section 2.4.2)
•
The Metasys N2 and Modbus/TCP Node-ID will be set to the same value as the Node-ID of the Modbus RTU device.
