Copiscan 8000 Spectrum Operator Manual
There are three main types of operator interface menus on the scanner, including the
home menu, user menus, and maintenance menus.
•
The home menu is normally displayed while scanning. It shows basic scanner
configuration information and scanning status.
•
The user menus allow the various scanner features to be tailored to the needs of the
customer.
•
The maintenance menus allow access to menus necessary for periodic calibration,
maintenance procedures, and for scanner software updates.
The control panel LCD will display one of the following main states:

INITIALIZING
When you apply power to the scanner or request a reset through the application software,
the scanner goes through a power up sequence and a series of diagnostic routines. If a
scanner component fails, an error is displayed.
NOTE:
Errors displayed during initialization should be reported immediately to a Böwe Bell +
Howell service representative. Please refer to the Contact Information page in this
manual.
This is the first display after power-on or after a software reset. While this is displayed,
the machine performs a CRC check, flashing contents that verify the integrity of the
program code.
