Manual Polarization
1
Choice
"No", "Yes"
Flag indicating whether the pol should be set manually
during the acquire sequence.
Polarization RF Offset
4
Float
-10 to 10
Offset in degrees, added to Pol angular value to correct for
mechanical error
Elevation Inc Offset
4
Float
-180 to 180
Offset in degrees to add to the elevation inclinometer.
Polarization Pot Offset
4
Float
-360.0 to 360.0
The offset added to the converted A/D value
Polarization Pot Scale
Factor
4
Float
- 100000.0 to
100000.0
Value to divide the raw A/D value by to produce a sensor
value. The formula for producing a final value is ((raw
number*10000)/ scale factor)
Line Scan Polarization
Adjust Flag
4
Choice
"No", "Yes"
This flag indicates that the Pol should be adjusted during a
line scan. Usually set to Yes.
Polarization Motor Abs Enc
Offset
4
Float
-600 to 600
The offset in degrees to be added to the read position of
the absolute encoder
Polarization Motor Abs Enc
Scale Factor
4
Float
-10000 to 10000
The scale factor that will be multiplied to the raw encoder
or resolver value
Polarization Motor Scale
Factor
4
Integer
-10000 to 10000
Scale factor to divide by to produce the actual value
Polarization Stow Position
4
Float
-180 to 180
The position in degrees of the pol for the stow routine
Polarization Position Move
Max PWM
4
Integer
0 to 1000
Maximum PWM power used in a position move for pol
when no encoders are present
Polarization Position Move
Min PWM
4
Integer
0 to 1000
Minimum PWM power used in a position move for pol
when no encoders are present
Polarization Pos Move
PWM Factor
4
Integer
1 to 1000
Pol proportional multiplier to produce a PWM value when
no encoders are present.
User Polarization CCW Limit
4
Float
-180.0 to 0.0
The maximum pol position for counter clockwise travel
User Polarization CW Limit
4
Float
0.0 to 180.0
The maximum pol position for clockwise travel
Polarization Center Switch
Is Interlock
4
Choice
“No”, “Yes”
Flag indicating the digital input as an interlock (blocks other
operations when set)
Polarization Motor Abs Enc
Scale Factor
4
Float
-999999 to 999999
The scale factor that will be multiplied to the raw absolute
encoder or resolver value
Polarization CW Limit
4
Float
n/a
The maximum clockwise polarization position. (Read Only)
Polarization CCW Limit
4
Float
n/a
The maximum counter clockwise polarization position.
(Read Only)
Many AvL antennas are multiple frequency band capable and employ an interchangeable feed
design. This allows the antenna to be easily reconfigured in the field from one polarization and
frequency band to another. These two parameters allow the AAQ to operate correctly given these
multiple feed configurations.
When expressing the polarization of the antenna, AvL employs a received satellite signal convention.
When the polarization of a standard cross-polarized linear Ku-band antenna is designated
“Horizontal”, this means the Receive signal polarization vector is Horizontal and the Transmit signal
polarization vector is Vertical. On those rare occasions when the antenna’s linearly polarized feed is
co-polarized (Transmit and Receive signals share the same linear polarization), there is the potential
for polarization mislabeling by the AAQ GUI. A proper setting of
Pol Feed Type
prevents that from
happening.
