Software
This chapter provides information about software requirements, software installation, tools
required for software upgrade, and blade insertion and extraction procedures.
11.1 Software Requirements
The shelf components are delivered with the software installed.
11.1.1 BBS Installation
If your Centellis 2100 shelf is equipped with Artesyn node blades, you need to install the Basic
Blade Services (BBS) software on the node blades as described in the respective
Basic Blade
Services Software Programmer’s Reference . The BBS installation automatically installs all
necessary files. BBS images must be installed on hard disks.
Contact your local Artesyn representative for information on obtaining BBS and firmware.
For details on the installation, see chapter Configuration and Network Boot on page 161 .
The information in the following subsections assumes that you have set the shelf address on
both ATCA-MF106 shelf managers to the same value.
