Creating and
Handling Forms
Acrobat 9 (both Standard and Pro) offers a new way of working with forms.
Acrobat 8 introduced an interface for creating form fields that switched
from a design to an active view for constructing and testing a form. In
Acrobat 9, the interface is even more streamlined.
As part of a modified approach to form design, Acrobat 9 offers a Form
Edit mode that opens in a separate window where you build, preview,
and distribute Acroforms. For both Windows and Mac, you can construct
forms using the Acroforms forms tools.
You have the same flexibility in designing forms in Acrobat as you do
in creating and designing PDF documents of other types. You can design
a form in a number of ways and in different programs. And, as with other
PDF documents, you can take advantage of both Acrobat.com for file
distribution, and PDF Portfolio for collecting form returns.
If you are working with Windows, you have access to the Adobe LiveCycle
Designer program, a separate forms design program integrated into Ac-
robat 9 Pro.
