2 Product Description
ACO fresh grease separator plants are made of stainless steel or polyethylene. Stainless
steel, for example, is characterised by a low fire load and high temperature resistance,
polyethylene by lightweight construction and long life.
2.1 Operating principle
The fresh grease separator operates physically according to the gravity principle.
The different densities are used to separate grease/oil from wastewater. Wastewater
constituents with a higher density than water, e.g. sludge, sink to the bottom and collect
in the sludge collection chamber. Animal and vegetable greases/oils have a lower specific
density than water and thus rise to the top and collect in the grease collection area. The
conical shape of the grease collection area and the sludge collection chamber enable
effective collection of grease and sludge in a very small space. Grease and sludge are
retained in the fresh grease separator by the special layout and design of the inlet and
outlet fittings. Grease and sludge are drawn off by the prevailing hydrostatic pressure via
the draw-off devices, automatically and separately, in the collecting barrel without a break
in operation.
