Symptoms
Cause
Remedy
Recording does not start
No storage medium is inserted
Insert a storage medium
with > 0.5 GB free disk space
The storage medium is not
recognised
The storage medium is not correctly
formated
Format the storage medium
(REF)
The colors are different in left
and right channel
The white balance was not properly
performed
Re-do an auto white
balance
The left and right channel
differ in brightness
Motion blur is visible in the
recordings
Reduce the shutter time
(e.g. from 1/50 to 1/100).
Verify that the gain, shown
in the display, does not
become too high; for
optimum results it should be
below 3 dB.
Noise is visible in the
recordings
Decrease the shutter time
(e.g. from 1/100 to 1/50).
Verify that this does not
result in excessive motion
blur or a too limited depth
of focus.
Parts of the image are
overexposed
Reduce the brightness until
there is no cross-hatch zebra
visible anymore.
Parts of the image are too
dark
Increase the brightness until
a few percent up to 10% of
the image shows diagonal
zebra, without introducing
cross-hatch zebra.
Objects are shifted over a
large distance between the
left and right eye images
Change the vergence
distance until the objects
are shifted by not more than
5% of the image width for
conservative and not more
than 10% for aggressive 3D.
However, scenes that have
objects very close by as well
as far away will inevitable
have such large disparity,
either on the foreground
objects, on the background
objects or both. In such
a situation increase the
distance to the closest
object, and make sure that
the vergence plane is close
to the foreground objects.
The camera does not record
sound from the internal
microphones
The XLR connectors are not yet
active. The camera records the
sound picked up by the internal
microphones.
