Touchscreen indications and operation

8. Gain value
The gain value is shown in the indicator
box, ranging from 0 to 12 dB. If AE is
off, then the GAIN can be set using
the TOUCHSCREEN. If AE is on, then iris
and gain are adjusted to match the
BRIGHTNESS setting.
8. Brightness
This indicator shows the brightness value,
determining in auto-exposure mode the
balance of gain and iris. The Brightness
can be adjusted between -40 and +40
using the IRIS adjustment, if AE is off.
If the BRIGHTNESS is less than -20 or
greater than +20 then the indicator is
red, to signal that one should either
increase/reduce the light and/or
increase/reduce the exposure time.
9. Focus motor position
The focus motor position in motor units
is shown in the indicator box. Only one
value is shown for both objectives, since
they are fully synchronous.
Message field
Messages are shown below the
indications fields.
Such messages include
•
white balance information (‘white
balance’, ‘white balance done’),
•
Recording status (‘REC’)
•
‘please wait’,
•
disk status (‘disk full’)
•
auto-focus information (‘too dark
for AF’).
Touchscreen

The TOUCHSCREEN will display different
content/controls depending on the
mode the camera is in (LIVE, RECORD,
PLAY).
NOTE
If the camera is on and the
TOUCHSCREEN is black, then the
TOUCHSCREEN is in power save mode.
Wake it up by tapping it once with your
finger.
STARTING UP
The TOUCHSCREEN will show a please
wait message while the camera is
starting up. As soon as the camera is
ready, the SENSOR setting will be shown

LIVE mode
In LIVE mode the camera will display a
number of options:
[Sensor] Exposure time
The exposure time can be adjusted from
1/25 up to 1/500 of a second. Set the
exposure time according to your needs
