Additionally, the IP configuration - IP address, subnet mask and IP
router address - is stored in PDS such that it will survive initialization to
factory defaults. This means that if you need to swap in a new
management module, it will be given the same IP parameters as its
predecessor.
Resetting with Stored Settings
The Reset Device function resets all counters to zero, and resets the
management module and all other modules contained in the chassis. It
does not affect any parameters in PDS such as port state, alarms or IP
configuration.

There is also a counter reset mechanism which resets to zero the value
of all counters that the management module governs.
